Help! How on earth should I quilt the Bjorn Bear quilt for Tula Pink?
That’s exactly what I was asking myself when Tula Pink gave me her Bjorn Bear quilt to machine quilt for her….no pressure, right? Well, you can see just how I answered that very question!
In my latest video tutorial, you can follow along as I quilt this special quilt. You’ll learn that I don’t always have a plan when I begin quilting, I’ll share a tip for using a matching thread color and you’ll find out why I love quilting “chunky feathers”
Check out the video below:
Happy Quilting!!
I just purchased your books Space by Space and Space by Space 2. Love Love them. Thank you for all your wonderful contributions to encourage and help others with quilting.
I love the quilting you did.It made the quilt. You made it just pop out so much. I watch you quilt a lot and you are the only quilter that gave me the confidence to branch out and use rulers.I found your rulers are very easy. I refresh my mind by watching your video on what ever ruler I am about to use.Now I don’t spend weeks quilting my quilts. I belong to an embroidery /quilting group and I am slowly getting my friends to try rulers. I am 63 and I’m one of the youngest so mature ladies can learn new tricks to keep quilting on home machines.I have got them to start watching your videos to how easy it is after watching your videos awhile. Thank you so much !
I am so glad I found this video as I have this quilt and I am following your lead and quilting it like you have. Thank you soooooo much!
It’s lovely what you did…the quilt from Tula and your work are magnificent!
How do you make the feather look like it goes behind the bear? Do you stop and start or do you stitch in the ditch till you get to the next area?
I think this is fantastic! I love your quilting and have told friends about you! And I love Tula Pink too~ I love the wavy lines in the bears. It is fantastic!
love your videos and instructions BUT doesn’t so much quilting make it more of an art/wall hanging- it has to be stiff as a board and not a quilt that can be used for warmth.
The BEARS are absolutely darling! I also like the flowing feathers! Clever idea! You have inspired me to quilt my own quilts! Must practice, practice, etc!!! Thanks for sharing.
Love the way you quilted the bears. I am going to make this quilt for my new grandson and this has inspired me to do the bears a bit differently.
Great video, I learned a lot. Thank you, you are so generous with your knowledge.
I am in love with the meandering feather!! I need to find a way to incorporate that into my next quilt. Thanks for all the great ideas.
Thank you for all you do for the quilting world. I could watch you quilt for hours. you are amazing!
Hey Angela! I left you a message earlier about quilting white fabric with white thread…hard to see where I’ve been and perfectly hit previous lines such as feathers..I have two lamps over my quilting area and after watching this video I’m wondering if I should put the lamp on the side of my machine. What do you think??
You’re exctly right. Watch this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A4-t871-Q_U
My husband made one of these lights for me and I love it. I turn the lights off in the room and on my machine and I close the curtains. Then I turn on the side light. It’s the perfect solution.
Did you quilt this with a stitch regulator? I don’t have a stitch regulator and have so many issues using rulers
Great quilting as always. Love the bears almost as much as the cats with mustaches! What would you do with a 6″ border that has busy fabric? I think any quilting will disappear. The rest of the quilt is done but I am still agonising over the last border!!
Do you always quilt in non stitch regulated mode? I struggle so much quilting without the stitch regulator.
You are amazing!
I love the variety of designs you use to bring out the fabric as well as Tula’s piecing designs! And those chunky loopy feathers weaving around are fabulous!
My handwriting is loopy & large so I hope my feathers will be as well!Carol
Love love love the fabric the design and the quilting… is this video in real time or last forward… seems like you’re quilting super fast … I feel like I can’t think that fast … love all your videos
this is incredible. My brain would never go as fast as your’s can while you quilt. You are amazing!
You do such great quilting that I can’t ever wait to see what’s next. Thank you for sharing your work ! Bears are so cute and you made them better.
You go girrrrl. There is simply NOTHING you can’t quilt! Well done. Well done.
You go girrrrl. There is simply NOTHING you can’t quilt! Well done.
You are so inspiring. Watching you ease through the designs is so fun.
Angela, what did I think about the quilting?…..FABULOUS, INCREDIBLY BEAUTIFUL, HOW i WISH I COULD DO THAT!!!! Absolutely gorgeous. Loved watching this video and the quilt is wonderful.
I learn so much from your videos. My quilting (and my confidence) has grown by leaps and bounds since I found you. I could watch you quilt for hours, the sound of your machine is almost hypnotic!
I too love to watch you quilt. I recently used both your quilting shapes books to finish a quilt for my sister. I have not mastered the feathers yet as my practice ones look like toasted marshmallows but hope to master them eventually. Thanks for all your inspiration..
I love the texture the wavy lines gives the bears. The chuncky feathers are my favorite part. Another wonderful overall quilting job. Thank you for sharing your quilting with us. I have taken your feathers class and love adding feathers to my quilts.
So cute. I love to watch you Quilt and learn so much each time. Thank you.
Gorgeous! I love how you gave the bears faces a personality. Oh and those chunky feathers are great! I love watching your videos Angela.
That was really beautiful. I have learned a lot from your videos. Thanks
Love the quilting as well and your explanations just add to my knowledge each time I watch something you have done. I too love long arm quilting and making a quilt come alive. A happy client is the very best reward when the job is finished. Thanks for all your effort to produce these videos. They are fun and informative
Beautiful. The chunky feathers not only add a variety of scale to the quilting, they help move your eye around the quilt….genius. Love you videos!
