Pick Perfect Threads Live Chat
Last week’s live chat was a fun one! I got to talk about one of my favorite things, thread!
During the live chat, I shared tips and suggestions for picking out thread colors for your quilt tops. For instance, what to consider when picking out a single thread color or multiple colors. I also shared some of my own “thread rules” that helps my make decisions about the thread colors that I use.

In addition to the live video, you can also download a free PDF version of the thread presentation so that you can always have the tips and suggestions handy!
Check out our Glide Thread Selection
I’m not joking when I say that I love threads! I love them so much, I decided to carry every color of Glide thread. Just looking at the selection in our stockroom is enough to make me drool!
So, if you are needing that perfect thread color, look no further!
What do you think? Do you love picking out threads as much as I do? What is your favorite thread color? Let me know in the comments!
I love Glide thread that you introduced me to for longarm quilting. I use the magna glide prewound bobbins now too. I’d like to purchase all the basic colors to go with Tula Pink’s True Colors. I’ve finished Nebula and plan on buying her new butterfly pattern. Do you have a list of coordinating colors of Glide like Aurifil does with their designer collections? I need to buy online so I’d love to buy from you.
I really liked your idea of picking threads that coordinates with the quilt and then add a couple of wild cards! Your tips on colors in conjunction with the piecing are spot on. I’ve always loved sewing but didn’t get into quilting until a few years ago and then found your website. My first quilt along was the flora and foliage and absolutely loved it. I’ve learned a tremendous amount and get more confident and braver with every quilt. (Also love you book Shape by Shape collection 1 and 2). Keep up the good work.
