Deciding how to machine quilt large areas of background negative space on your quilts doesn’t have to be daunting! In fact, quilting these areas is easier than you might think….especially with Angela Walters to show you how!
Quilt along with Angela in this free online machine quilting class, as she shows you how to create impactful quilting in background areas of your quilts. And the best part, it’s absolutely free to join in the quilting fun! Quilt along with me and thousands of other quilters as I teach you my favorite free-motion designs.
First we’ll learn continuous curve designs for quilt blocks as well as how to efficiently work through areas of a quilt. Then we’ll see how simple echo lines can help highlight quilt blocks in so many ways!
Then, we’ll move on to learn quilting designs and techniques that are perfect for background areas of your quilts. You’ll learn how to use the quilting add movement with the wavy, wavy and ogee designs…….both of which add a gorgeous wavy texture to background areas. We’ll also learn how to quilt the designs in irregularly shaped areas.
Next we’ll see how changing the scale, or density, of a quilting design can add interest and help draw attention to particular areas of your quilt. And we’ll finish up by using the quilting to create secondary pattern for even more impact in the background areas of our quilts.
I’ll also demonstrate how to quilt the designs on a sewing machine and a longarm, and share plenty of quilted examples. Plus, I’ll have free downloadable quilting diagrams for the videos so that you can be successful with the skills we’re learning!
