Quilt Along With Me on a Custom Panel
We can’t have a quilt along without something to quilt, right? Instead of piecing, you can jump right to the quilting with a custom quilt panel I’ve designed exclusively for this challenge.
Featuring the quilt blocks in the challenge, this bright and happy panel measures approx. 45” x 55”, the perfect size for free-motion quilting practice.
You can purchase the panel by itself or as a kit which includes the panel as well as fabric for the backing and the binding.
I have to admit that I love the backing fabric as much as the front, because it’s not just any fabric. It’s designed by me and printed exclusively for this challenge by Paintbrush Studios. (This print is only available as part of the kit.)
I think you might find it’s the perfect print to inspire some beautiful quilting designs.

So….are you going to quilt along with me?
Hi! I recently purchased the panel with backing & binding (and matching thread) and am excited to start my first quilting challenge. I misplaced the instructions about cutting the backing from the binding. Can the instructions that came with the kit be found online?
Even though I haven’t finished the challenge I did want to rave about the backing fabric. When I got mine, it was just to beautiful to use for a backing. I have used some of it for face masks and I can’t begin to tell you how many compliments they’ve received. I hope you will create more fabric prints like this. I am truly a fan.
Hey Angela, How come no one talks about quilting in a large circle? I am making a quilt with 12″ full moons, just wondering how to quilt them.
Laurie
Thank you so much for so generously sharing all your video tutorials. I have your book “Free Motion Quilting,” but it is so nice to watch you demonstrate them. I just finished 2 t-shirt quilts this year and tried lots of different designs in trying to improve and continue to learn to machine quilt—swirls, dot to dot, wavy lines, leaf meander, echoing, using rulers, back and forth, wishbones, etc. I have loved it! My first attempts were not always great, but I love your advice to finish and look at the whole design instead of every individual stitch. I have taken some classes at quilt shops which were good and got me started, but your encouragement and enthusiasm and teaching step by step has helped me so much. I just can’t say thank you enough again for sharing your wonderful talent with all of us!!!❤️
Have you talked at all about all the filler quilting, on the sashing, behind the star blocks etc,, I’m only on Week 3 and quilting the blocks, but I’m wondering about the filling!
Dear Angela,
I just found you as I am starting my quilting journey. I am trying the “Help how do I quilt it” but have to admit I have had to redo each block at least once.
I purchased your backing fabric for this project and absolutely cannot use as the backing, it’s way too beautiful and I’ll hold onto it until I can find a way to feature it.
I am eager to work on your other quilt alongs but it seams the fabrics are no longer available. I would love alternative suggestions.
Did I see somewhere you completing the Hydrangea Dream Big Flower Panel? I so want to work on that even though I’ll end up re-doing it a couple times.
I’m a Bluprint subscriber so I will be following you there as well as on your site.
I just wanted to let you know what an inspiration you are.
Dear Angela,
I just told my husband that You are my new best friend. I have just started quilting (and I am in love lol). I got a singer sewing machine in December of which I also love omg, the new technology). I am still creating my top layer and soon will be putting it all together and attempting free motion (I purchased rulers to help me thanks to your video. I am a member on Bluprint which is how I found you).
My question is when I do this part of quilting I haven’t heard about the color of thread details. Do I have to change it all the time to match my square? That seems a bit daunting and I sure would like to hear a video or explanation on this subject.
Thank you for your enthusiasm and for giving me confidence. I am very excited.
