• Are you interested in learning more about longarm quilting? Or, do you have a longarm quilting machine, but aren’t sure how to use it? This two day in-depth training session, Angela will be showing you the ins-and-outs of longarming on Handi-Quilter longarms, but the skills learned in this class can be applied to any longarm quilting machine. Each machine will be limited to 2 attendees so everyone will have an opportunity to learn and practice. Registration includes all supplies and lunches.

  • Keep your beloved Featherweight in tip-top shape with this maintenance class. In this 4 hour class, you’ll learn how to care for your Featherweight machine so that you can enjoy sewing on it for years to come. Experienced teachers, John & Jennifer Boren will guide you through the many steps in caring for your machine and will have needed parts and supplies available for purchase.

  • If you’ve always wanted to learn how to make a quilt, then this class is for you! In this beginner quilting class, you’ll make the adorable “Tether” quilt and learn the basics of sewing and patchwork. You’ll learn how to pick out fabric, read quilt patterns, cutting tips, practical sewing instruction and more!

    When finished, you’ll be amazed at your new sewing skills.  Whether you’ve never touched a sewing machine, or just want to brush up on some basic piecing skills, this class is for you! Class fee includes the fabric and pattern to make the Tether quilt.

  • The Next Steps longarm class series is for longarm owners that know the basics of using their machine, and want to learn even more! These quick class sessions are focused on a particular aspect of using the longarm machine, in which you’ll learn tips and get more confidence with your longarm. Part hands-on class, part Q&A, you’ll leave these sessions with even more longarming knowledge. These sessions are taught on Handi Quilter Amara longarm quilting machines, but these lessons can be applied to any machine.

    Session 1 - Jan. 4th : Tips for Loading the Frame Quickly and Easily. Learn the different loading styles, tips for faster loading, and how to work through the quilt to ensure a square, flat quilt.

    Session 2 - Jan. 11th: Threads & Tension Learn how to use different types of threads, troubleshooting common thread issues & choosing the perfect color for your quilt.

    Session 3 - Jan. 18th: Longarming with Rulers. Learn the basics of longarm quilting with rulers and templates as well as how to avoid common ruler mistakes.

    Session 4 - Jan. 25th: Free-motion Tips. Learn the tips to creating smooth, beautiful designs. We’ll discuss different stitching modes, perfect posture and more!

  • Use your own photo to create a lifelike quilted portrait of a beloved pet using distinctive approach that involves fabric layering and stitching techniques. In this class, Rochelle Rice, an accomplished artist with years of experience in various mediums, will teach you the technique and guide you through getting started with your own pet portrait quilt!
