Beginner Quilting Class – 6/18, 6/25 & 7/2

Description

If you’ve always wanted to learn how to make a quilt, then this class is for you! In this beginner quilting class, you’ll make the adorable “Tether” quilt and learn the basics of sewing and patchwork. You’ll learn how to pick out fabric, read quilt patterns, cutting tips, practical sewing instruction and more!

 When finished, you’ll be amazed at your new sewing skills.  Whether you’ve never touched a sewing machine, or just want to brush up on some basic piecing skills, this class is for you! Class fee includes the fabric and pattern to make the Tether quilt.

• Dates: June 18th, June 25th, July 2nd
• Time: 6:00 PM – 8:30 PM
• Location: Session 1 (June 18th) meets at the Quilt Shop. All other sessions will meet at the Quilting Is My Therapy Event Center at 400 N. Missouri St Liberty MO (just a few blocks north of the quilt shop) Entrance is in back of the building, in the parking lot. Please note that there are some steps that lead up to the entrance.

Supplies Needed:

• Sewing Machine in working order (you won’t need the sewing machine for the first session)
• A full list of supplies will be given the first session

Class Agenda:

• Session 1 (June 18th): meets at the Quilt Shop (2 E. Franklin St, Liberty) Concepts covered include picking out fabric, quilting terms, reading a quilt pattern, and cutting fabric. You will not need your sewing machine for this session.
• Session 2 (June 25th): meets at the QIMT Event Center. Concepts covered include the basics of sewing, making quilt blocks, pressing and assembling the quilt.
• Session 3 (July 2nd): meets at the QIMT Event Center. During this session we will cover finishing the quilt top and adding borders.
