We are so excited to announce that the finishing kits are now available for preorder!In this video, Angela tells you a little bit about each of the kits as well as what to expect.

Pattern Updates and Corrections

We do our very best to make sure that our finishing kit patterns are perfect in every way! But, unfortunately, mistakes can happen. Check the pattern corrections and updates below:

The cutting instructions for Fabric E should read:

4 strips 3 ½” x WOF, subcut into:

     4 – 3 ½” x 16 ½” (Block A)

     4 – 3 ½” x 19 ½” (Block A)

1 strip 5 ¼” x WOF, subcut into:

     2 – 5 ¼” x 5 ¼” (Flying Geese)

Also the cutting instructions for Fabric A should read:

8 strips 2 ½” x WOF, piece to make:

       2 – 2 ½” x 79 ½” (Borders)

       2 – 2 ½” x 83 ½” (Borders)

(The last line was inadvertently cropped off the pattern.)

The cutting instructions for Fabric I should read:

4 strips 3 ½” x WOF, subcut into:

The cutting instructions for FabricI should read:

8 strips 2 1⁄2” x WOF, piece to make:

  • 2 – 2 1⁄2” x 82 1⁄2 ” (Borders)
  • 2 – 2 1⁄2” x 80” (Borders)

Under “Quilt Assembly”, Step 2 should read:

  • Sew the columns together, then sew a 2 1⁄2” x 80” strip of Fabric M to the top and bottom. Quilt should measure 80” x 86”.

The measurements for the Half Square Triangles are incorrect. The HST blocks should be 6 1/2″ x 6 1/2″.

United States –

Your block kit of fabric awesomeness is mailed the Friday of each scheduled monthly meeting and should arrive in 2-7 days.

Internationals-

You will be mailed the yardage for your blocks in early December.  Then each month you will be emailed the block pattern.

What do I do if my block does not arrive?2021-10-15T12:05:54-05:00

We ask that you give the mail at least 2 weeks.  Many times the package simply gets misrouted in the mail system and ends up showing up.  If you have not received your block after two weeks, please email Joni at qimtbaq@gmail.com and she will promptly assist you.

The oops kit is the perfect solution.  You may also purchase extra fabric online. If there are any other issues with the fabric just email Joni at qimtbaq@gmail.com

For the Build A Quilt online option, you pay a one-time fee which includes the fabric and patterns for 10 blocks. We mail you a block kit with the fabric and pattern for a block every month (Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr, June, July, Aug, and Sept.).
In April, you will have the option to purchase finishing kits for your blocks. There will be three different layouts to choose from, which will include the exclusive pattern, as well as fabric for the top and binding.
As a builder, you will also have access to live videos of our BAQ meetings, exclusive products and discounts.

After enrolling in the Build a Quilt program, you can request to be added to the Facebook group. You must answer the verification question, then we will approve the request.

Each month, you will receive an envelope full of happiness! It includes a color pattern with fabric key, cutting diagrams and clear instructions and illustrations on how to piece the block. You will also receive a fabric panel featuring the fabrics needed to make the block. Since Angela is the fabric designer, we are able to digitally printing the fabrics needed on one piece of fabric. This not only cuts down on errors on our end, it ensures that your fabrics stay together until you are ready to cut them out.
This is exclusive to Build A Quilt and we think it’s pretty fantastic!

An “oops kit” is a panel featuring a 13 1/2″ square of all 9 fabrics used in the BAQ blocks. Perfect to have on hand if you make a miscut or choose to switch out a fabric in one of the blocks. It’s definitely handy to have around!
