Quilting Tutorial

Welcome To The Midnight Quilter

Calling all night owls!

Sometimes the best time to quilt is after everybody has gone to bed. That was the inspiration behind my YouTube series Midnight Quilter. Whether you’ve been a Midnight Quilter for years or this is your first time quilting after dark, we’ve got plenty of projects, inspiration, and snack recommendations to keep you going.

My quilting journey started in 2001 when my husband's grandpa passed on the family art. He helped me create my first 9-patch quilt, and it's still on my bed today! It's that same patient guidance I hope to pass on to the quilters who visit my shop or take my classes so they know quilting is for everyone.

A Different Kind of Quilting Tutorial

The Midnight Quilter is more than a quilting tutorial series, it’s a lifestyle.

Okay, maybe not that dramatic. But we do sympathize with the reality that for a lot of us, the best time to quilt is after everyone else has gone to bed. We created the Midnight Quilter tutorial series to be a cozy, laid-back place to find inspiration for your next quilting project.

When we create a quilting tutorial we focus on making sure it’s accessible to quilters at any skill level. Our quilting tutorials are quick, 15-minute videos that give you insights into creating beautiful quilts often by working smarter, not harder (like in our Bargello Quilt Tutorial) or just demystifying the process behind some of the more intricate quilt designs (like the Rainbow Cathedral).

In each quilting tutorial, our very own Angela Walters walks you through the entire quilting process step-by-step, from piecing all the way to the binding. There’s a pattern that goes with each video, so you can easily stitch along at home! We take some of the most complex-looking designs and create easy-to-follow patterns to help you create beautiful quilts as gifts, decor, and more.

What to Expect.

The Midnight Quilter is a series of free quilting tutorial videos where Angela walks through a pattern. In each episode description, we list out the supplies you need to complete the featured project, including the fabric, colors, and measurements! We link you to our shop where you can access exclusive fabric designs, custom patterns, and the tools needed to complete each project.

In each quilting tutorial, Angela walks through the most complicated parts of the quilting pattern to help you get started and shares practical tips to make quilting easier and less stressful.

At Quilting Is My Therapy we focus on creating an environment free of perfectionism, and that’s reflected in every quilting tutorial we produce. We love exploring new quilting techniques and often feature Angela’s favorite quilting tools and supplies.

At the end of the day, we want our quilting tutorials to be a source of fun, encouraging, and an interactive community. We’re adding new quilting tutorials and demos all the time. However, if there’s something you want to learn but can’t find a video for, you can always send us a message!
