The HQ710 does anything I can dream of and lots of stuff I never imagined. It’s got a ton of feet and accessories. It’s easy to use but I need the instruction book every day because it has 2 plates which change quickly but some stitches can only be used with one plate. I love the auto thread cutter, the needle down, the large throat, the lights, over 100 decorative stitches and embroidery words. Had it 5 months and no problems so far.

This is an UPDATE. In order to select different modes and accompanying stitches, you have to change out the stitch plate. Very important info that needs to be mentioned again and again.
Also, speed of HQ 710 is supposed to be up to 1000 stitches per minute. Also, the speed is adjustable. This is fabulous when free motion quilting. However, when you need speed, it takes a while to get up to speed.

I purchased the HQ 710 because I would be able to do so many things with it including using it to free motion quilt by itself or when used with the Grace Q-zone frame. There are a LOT of stitch choices.
So far I have been using it to sew. It has a beautiful stitch. However, I can’t figure out how to change modes OR other stitches within Mode 1. Could be user error. I have looked thru the manual and on Youtube.
I have also discovered that the HQ Stitch 710 is comparable to the Janome 8200. The HQ is $500 more expensive even when on sale thru Angela Walters site.
I may have a lemon or it might be user error. So far I have successfully sewn straight stitch and moved needle position. I can wind bobbins as well. Tension is beautiful, so stitches are beautiful.
