Learning new quilting techniques and spending time with other quilters is the best therapy!
All classes are held at the Quilting Is My Therapy Event Center at 400 N Missouri St, Liberty MO 64068 (just a few blocks north of the shop). Park in back (in parking lot) and use entrance in the parking lot. Please note that there are 8 steps up to the door, there will be someone on hand to help you carry your items up the stairs if needed.

Please Take Note of our Class Policies

Classes start on time. Plan to arrive 30-15 minutes early to set up and purchase any needed supplies.

We love children, and pets, but please leave them at home for class.  

If you are unable to attend the class and notify the shop 7 days prior to the class date, you will receive store credit for the amount of the class fee. Special events such as retreats and guest teachers require 14 days notification.

Minimum enrollment for classes is three students. Every effort will be made to avoid canceling classes; however, if the minimum enrollment has not been met within 7 days of the first class session, it may be canceled. Students will be contacted by phone and issued a store credit.

  • Tired of seeing those beautiful quilts and wishing you could make one. We’ll now let’s not have that; Let’s Get Quilting. If you are new to quilting or would like to learn some basic quilting skills, this class is for you. During the 4 week class you will make a lap quilt from start to finish. This is a great bargain for starting a new hobby that we know you are going to love.
  • Join the Featherweights Club

    Featherweight lovers unite! Come share your love and knowledge of Featherweights with other quilters. Enjoy show and share, get help with cleaning and troubleshooting or simply work on your own projects. Come for the whole time or just stay for part of it. Whether you have a Featherweight or are just interested in learning more about them, this group is for you.

  • Join the English Paper Piecing Club

    English Paper Piecing is a traditional method of hand piecing that uses paper templates to create amazingly intricate shapes. Get guidance on the technique, share ideas, patterns, and projects. All while enjoying the company and conversation of other quilters. All experience levels welcome......even if you have never english paper pieced before!

    Get your creative juices flowing in Club Create. Come and join other sewing and quilting enthusiasts and sew on any project you like. Bring your sewing machine and essentials, but feel free to use our irons, rotary cutters, rulers and some notions. It’s like your quilting studio away from home.....without the housework! Come for the whole time, or stop in as you can

  • Get Design Inspiration for Machine Quilting Rulers

    Improve your machine quilting ruler skills and get design ideas during the inspiration sessions. Each month, Angela or Irene will demonstrate how to use a particular type of ruler to create some versatile and amazing designs. Watch the demo on a sewing machine and a longarm, take pictures of samples, show off your quilting from previous months inspiration session and ask any questions about the designs. Spend the next month practicing and perfecting your ruler quilting.

  • Now is the time to turn those special T-shirts just sitting in a drawer into a special memory quilt. A T-shirt quilt makes a great graduation present, or a way to honor any loved one.  We will use up to 20 tee-shirts in the quilt. 

    You will learn how to back the shirts with fusible interfacing, cut the shirts into blocks, and sew them into a special quilt with or without sashing. The quilt top will then be ready for quilting.
